Description

Messier 78 sits in the Orion Constellation.  Doesn't get as much recognition as some of the more famous nebula in the constellation, but it deserves imaging this time of year.  A lot of dark molecular clouds, some being back lit by reflection nebula stars make it a very interesting target.  This is my best attempt at this target, but I need to go back and get more data to help reduce the noise and bring out more of the subtle details.  All of the new tools showing up on PIX are really helping in my processing knowledge.  As I always say, still so much to learn.  Like I said in the header, this needs a name!!  Clear Skies
